The Martians Are Coming, The Martians Are Coming...

(Also known as hot air balloons)  This was probably Hannah & Maggie's first hot air balloon and they were not too pleased.  Bryan said they set up the neighborhood alarm.

If you look closely you can see them at the front of the yard, near the fence.

Just a neat view of Sandia Peak - despite the powerlines

Hannah & Maggie and the Death of a Giraffe

Have you seen those ads about the indestructible dog toys?  The ones that are guaranteed to withstand even the worst dog??  Well, they are no match for Hannah & Maggie.  Here's what's left of the lion and giraffe...

The Great Hunters After the Disemboweling the Giraffe

Now here are my two 'angels' begging for cheese.  You'll notice the muddy noses, not only are they great hunters, they are also master diggers.

Hannah

And Hannah not being quite so angelic... We are so waiting for GREEN grass so we can hopefully cut down on the dry grass.

Spring is on its way... at least this weekend.

What a terrific, beautiful, PERFECT day!!!  We slept late (having to ban the dogs to the outdoors to do it but still) then got up and Bryan took me to breakfast at the Range (love their breakfast chicken fried steak with green chile gravy!!) and then to Bernalillo's used bookstore, Under Charlie's Covers for some weekend reading.  After we got home it was so beautiful outside that I got inspired to do a little yard work - Bryan had to catch up on his online math classes (ugh) so he was stuck indoors.

Then the rest of the afternoon was spent lying in the sun in my zero-gravity chair reading a book, sipping a coke. HEAVENLY!!!!!!!!!  I love the sunshine and this great southwest weather.  Tomorrow I will try to get pictures.

Day One of my 5 day weekend has been pretty sweet so far!
