Feb 28 - Mar 4 Pep, New Mexico

While Bryan was in California oil fields for training I decided to head to Mom & Dad's in Pep.  It's 401 miles from the house in TX to their place - about 7.5 hours with gas stops and doggy potty breaks (and puke clean-up).  A bit longer than coming in from Albuquerque but not too bad.

Beginning of a grass fire south of Hwy 114 and east of Gutherie, TX

Open road - Hwy 114

Open dirt road.  On the way to John S's place to clean
out a stock tank.

Maggie

Broken fence that needs repairing

Riding the fence line looking for more downed fence.

Hannah & Maggie getting used to being ranch dogs
& riding in the back of a truck

Next on the agenda? Cleaning out cactus
that had frozen during the cold spell.

Mmmm, we LOVE cactus

Baby calf

Parents & Jake out for an afternoon walk.

Boy, those shots give a whole new meaning to the phrase "open road." We went over to Clovis a week or so ago and I could feel myself relaxing under that big sky. Not that we are tense (lol!) but there is something restful about eastern NM.

I always love New Mexico pictures, especially ones of places I have not been yet. Thanks for taking the time to post so many pictures, Raymona.
