Jan 10 - Welcome to Hollywood!!

We live in Hollywood... OK, maybe not but we did get stuck in traffic on Hwy 14 heading south, while a film crew filmed some motorcycles heading north. I sat and watched them stop along side our truck with camera in hand but didn't think to take a picture or two. My brush with stardom and I forgot to take a picture.

At least we think it was a film crew: A police car stopped southbound traffic just past the Hwy 344 intersection (and for those of you not familiar with the area, this is all on the east side of the Sandia mountains (read: east of Alburquerque) and north of I-40)... anywhooo.... as we sat there not knowing what was going on, we noticed a guy with a radio standing on the hill on the east side of 14. Then a van came by, followed closely by a truck with flashers on and filled with equipment & people in the back and then a whole bunch of motorcyles, some weaving in the other lane of traffic. When they pulled off the road next to us, Bryan notice a couple of the bikes had people sitting on them backwards with 'equipment'. Hence our conclusion it was a film crew. Maybe Wild Hogs 2?? :-) Who knows? I know that Jackie Chan was in Rio Rancho (directly across the Rio Grande from us) filming his new movie and our storage room was next to the TV show "Crash" sound stage (it seems to be closed now - filming over???)

New Mexico has always been a hotbed for filmmakers and its only becoming more so, I think that Albuquerque has two big movie sound stages now, Santa Fe has one or is in the process of building one and Reelz (a cable station) is moving its headquarters to Santa Fe and Val Kilmer (Santa Fe resident) has expressed an interest in running for NM governor. Sound familiar??
